OUR HISTORY
Lapinha, essence
and origins
Established in the 1970s by Margarida Bornschein Langer, Lar Lapeano de Saúde, later rebranded as Lapinha, emerged with the noble mission of combatting illnesses through the application of natural therapies. Recognizing the imperative need for a holistic approach to healing, D. Margarida envisioned that true well-being encompassed not only the individual but also the Earth and the local community. Thus, in 1972, Lapinha came into being in Lapa, Paraná, marking the birth of Brazil’s inaugural medical spa. This unique establishment was situated on an organic farm, surrounded by a native subtropical forest, and played a pivotal role in community development. Presently, Lapinha is under the stewardship of the third and fourth generations, with Dieter and Margareth Brepohl and their daughters Christiane, Marianne, and Gabriela at the helm.

At Lapinha, our team consists of 170 dedicated employees who are committed to providing top-notch care for our guests and maintaining the land, gardens, and nature. Our primary focus is to continually deliver the finest health and well-being services.

Long before sustainability gained widespread recognition, Lapinha had already embraced and put this principle into action. We prioritize the collective well-being by creating local employment opportunities and cultivating food sustainably, ensuring a farm-to-table journey. With a focus on future generations, our efforts include rejuvenating the land, tending to the soil for organic food production, safeguarding our rivers, purifying waste, eschewing non-biodegradable materials, managing our energy resources, and preserving the ancient Araucaria and Imbuia trees that constitute our native forest.
